Intel's Plans Revealed..., 2,136 cores...

Postby Phantom » Mon Nov 16, 2009 7:27 pm

Having room-loads of folding equipment just seems a little old-style?  Wanna gain back some of your space for other things in your life?

Well, now it should be possible...  Enter the Nehalem-EX for Super computers.

Shares the same architecture as the upcoming eight-core Nehalem-EX, but uses six cores in return for greater overall performance.

As reported over at electronista.com, Intel says "a single computer could have as many as 256 of the processors linked together."

So, get your HPC folding equipment here!  And get ready for those "super big advanced core WUs!"
