Here's the place to ask questions, get answers, and engage in discussion of Noah's post asking for volunteers for the Team.

Together with the rest of the team management group, I look forward to reading your responses to Noah.

If you would like to volunteer, kindly sign up by PM to "volunteer_coordinator" - this helps us to keep better track of the responses.

With very best wishes,

Suggestion: post a link to Noah's thread--people who enter the forums via New Posts see this one, but not Noah's post.

Team MacOS X - Q&A about volunteering, Lend a hand to help your team.

Postby susato » Wed Jun 29, 2005 1:47 pm

Over the last two weeks we've had a few more inquiries from people interested in helping out our Team - many of them questions about the kinds of help we need from team members.  Noah already mentioned that practically any kind of skill is useful to us, and that helping out doesn't necessarily demand a big time commitment. But it seems we need examples...

I'll lead off and hope that some of our currently active Team MacOS X volunteers will follow with examples of their own.

Hmm, let's see... a few of the things I do are:

- creating a few of the "logo of the day" graphics (most of the others are from the talented su4nz)
- with other team members, planning our recruitment and forum improvement projects
- welcoming new members to the forum
- alpha and beta testing some of the folding software developed by our members, from the viewpoint of the less-experienced user
- while wearing my senior-admin hat, helping new forum members with registration problems

Let's hear from some of the Team's other volunteers - each one bringing his or her own skills, experience and personality to help move our team forward.

Bilingual forum readers, the Team can use your help here in the international forum, where we're putting together a list of people who can offer Folding assistance, even the most basic kind, in languages other than English.

I know the Team has members who can help out in German, Dutch, and Swedish - what other languages can we offer at the Team Mac OSX International Forums?   We especially need Spanish, Portuguese, and a better French language consultant.  Anyone fluent in Arabic, Korean, Chinese or Japanese?   How about Turkish, Italian, Vietnamese, Gujarati, Tok Pisin?  If you speak it, we want to hear from you.

Thanks/sbasiba/merci/xiè-xiè/obrigada/bedankt,

and click here to volunteer,

:hi: HTML anyone? :hi:

We have a couple of projects underway that could use a volunteer with some expertise in web page design and coding - advanced-beginner to intermediate skills will do fine.  The projects are small in scope but will be important for opening up a new area of activity for the Team.

Interested? Let your Team's volunteer_coordinator know. Thank you!

Team MacOS X - Q&A about volunteering, Lend a hand to help your team.

Postby Nanuq » Wed Aug 24, 2005 7:06 am

I might be able to offer my services in the future [Really busy at the moment, but give me a couple weeks after things start cooling down from the summer season]. I don't code HTML but I have some web design skills, and I can figure just about anything out, so I may be able to help out testing software, and perhaps writing how-to's or what-not.

Just thought I'd try to help out in anyway I can.

Looking for volunteers with the following interests:

- podcasting
- creating (or just packaging) OSX related content for the folding wiki
- adding a frappr map to our website
- attracting new people to Folding@Home
- updating our FAQs

Interested in any of these?  Got other ideas that could help our forum and Team? Send a PM to me or to volunteer_coordinator and let us know your thoughts.
